2 Killed in Alleged Road Rage Shootings in Oklahoma.

TULSA, Okla. (AP) — A man sped through three counties in the night while firing randomly from his pickup truck, hitting at least four vehicles and killing two people on an Oklahoma interstate, police said. Two people in separate cars were fatally shot by a man who drove along an Interstate highway in Oklahoma while randomly firing at vehicles, an official said on Thursday.

At around 12:30 a.m. on Thursday, police arrested Jeremy Doss Hardy, 36, of Pasadena, Texas, who then allegedly failed a breath test and was booked for alleged DUI. From the time he allegedly fired the first shot to the time he was arrested, Hardy had driven 70 miles, Custer County Sheriff Bruce Peoples tells PEOPLE. The police started receiving 911 calls late Wednesday about a man firing at cars as he drove west on Interstate 40, which stretches across the south-central part of the United States, a spokeswoman for the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, Jessica Brown, said in a telephone interview.

Then, during a patrol, the police in Weatherford, a small city about 70 miles west of Oklahoma City, found a woman, Billie Jean West, 63, shot in her car off an exit, the statement said. As of Thursday morning, Peoples says Hardy was being held in the “drunk tank” and had not yet been booked for the shootings or entered a plea to the DUI. She said occupants of at least two other vehicles had reported being targeted by gunfire during the shooting spree, but there were no immediate reports of other injuries.
