At least 2 dead, 9 injured after buses collide on Seattle bridge.

SEATTLE (AP) — Two people were killed and nine critically injured Thursday in a crash between a charter bus and an amphibious tour vehicle in Seattle, fire officials said.

Harborview Medical Center spokeswoman Susan Gregg said the hospital expected to treat up to 10 of the most seriously injured victims, while as many as 15 others were being dispersed to other hospitals in the area. The Seattle Fire Department, which reported the number of dead and wounded on Twitter, said 90 firefighters responded to the incident and they had evaluated approximately 50 people. The crash occurred on the Aurora Bridge around 11:13 a.m. local time when a Ride the Ducks tour vehicle reportedly rammed into the side of a bus owned by Bellair charters and airport shuttles. “Very early on in the incident [firefighters] were able to get the majority of people off the bus,” a fire department spokesperson said. “There’s quite a few people that self-extricated from the accident.” Ride the Ducks has been involved in two other collisions, in December 2010 and June 2011, according to the Seattle Times. However, both Ducks drivers told authorities they didn’t see the cars they hit due to the height of the vehicles they were operating, the Times reported, citing collision reports.
