2 Marines Killed In Helicopter Crash During Training Exercise At Twentynine Palms Base.

TWENTYNINE PALMS, Calif. (AP) — Two Marine Corps pilots killed when their helicopter crashed during a training exercise in the Southern California desert were remembered Sunday as talented pilots. The names of the Marines have not been released, pending notificiation of their relatives, according to officials at the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center. “Our hearts go out to the families and friends of the two Marines we lost in this tragic accident,” said Major Gen. Rocco, Third Marine Aircraft Wing commanding general, said in a statement. “We at Third Marine Aircraft Wing stand ready to provide support to their families.”
