Louisiana Alcohol and Tobacco Control (ATC) Commissioner Troy Hebert suspended the liquor licenses for the businesses this afternoon following evidence of prostitution, illegal drug activities, and lewd/improper acts at the businesses. “ATC is keeping a close eye on what’s going on in the French Quarter,” stated Commissioner Hebert. “This kind of illegal activity poses a concern for public safety and will not be tolerated.” Th New Orleans Police Department’s 8th District requested help from the ATC. The agency then teamed up with the State Police to launch a month long investigation code named, “Operation Trick or Treat.” Each business was accused of multiple counts of prostitution and CDS (drug sales), as well as at least one count of lewd/improper conduct.
