BREAKING: Fairfield Schools Releasing Early After Phone Threats Target Several Schools.

According to the Fairfield Police Department, several students from Vanden High School reported Wednesday morning that a man had approached them as they were walking to school.Fairfield officials say all schools and students are “secure” and that all schools will be releasing early according to a normal early release schedule.10:49 AM — Despite being told by police and school officials to not come to Fairfield schools, there are hundreds of cars lining the streets around Fairfield Warde High School this morning. Police said calls were made to three schools: Holland Hill Elementary and both Ludlowe and Warde high schools, the Post reports, but as a precaution all schools went into lockdown.

All students at Notre Dame of Fairfield have been moved inside and the school is on lockdown awaiting further direction from Fairfield Police, Notre Dame’s principal tweeted. Fairfield Police Chief Gary MacNamara told the Post that police believe the call about the alleged incident on Black Rock Turnpike may have been intended as a “diversion.”
