Brooklyn Man Arrested in Fatal Hit-And-Run Crash: Police.

Police said the suspect, 24-year-old Michael McBean, was driving a 2010 Mercedes-Benz north on Pennsylvania Avenue in the East New York neighborhood around 7:15 p.m. when he struck another vehicle stopped at a stop light. A Brooklyn man, nabbed after a desperate escape attempt ended with a car wreck and a failed carjacking bid, was charged in a gruesome Thanksgiving crash that killed one woman, cops said.

A manical driver blazed a path of destruction on a Brooklyn street Thursday night — hitting an SUV and then fatally striking a woman before smashing into several cars, cops and witnesses said.A driver fatally struck a woman in Brooklyn on Thursday night, then injured about a dozen people — including himself — as he tried to flee, the police said.

Witnesses say they saw a man in his 20s, driving a white Mercedes sedan hit the woman, then try to keep going but several cars were in his way, CBS2’s Dave Carlin reported. “She was driving and he hit her on the side so he hit the lady and then hit it from the side knocked her over the divider and caused the other cars to collide trying to get away,” one witness said. He then tried to drive off, police said, hitting a pedestrian getting into her car and three other vehicles, all of which were stopped at the red light. McBean is now charged with attempted robbery, leaving the scene of an accident which resulted in a death, obstruction of governmental administration and disorderly conduct.

The cold-hearted driver sped away from the scene but soon barreled into the back of a blue Dodge Caravan — sparking a chain-reaction accident at a red light that involved a black Dodge Charger and white Audi Q7.
