BOSTON (CBS) — Tuesday, September 29 is National Coffee Day, and several places in the Boston area are offering a free cup of joe and other perks to coffee drinkers. Nearly 83 percent of Americans drink coffee in the U.S., the world’s biggest consumer of the beverage, according to the National Coffee Association. 50 percent off any coffee drink for customers who tweet or Instagram a picture of the store, or better yet, a picture of themselves in one of the two Valley locations. Krispy Kreme: This may be the best coffee deal out there, because not only do consumers at participating Krispy Kreme KKD, -1.72% locations get a free 12-ounce cup of coffee, they also get a free glazed donut. Over the next year, every time someone buys a bag of coffee in a Starbucks store, a tree will be planted in a community that needs one on the customer’s behalf.
