HAMILTON, Mass. (AP) — Police say a former baby sitter is under arrest in the kidnapping of 2-year-old Massachusetts girl who was found sitting nude by the side of a road with her head shaved. Police have charged the former babysitter of a two-year-old girl who vanished from her Massachusetts home in the middle of the night was found naked and injured eight miles away. Abigail Hanna, 21, of Topsfield was arrested and charged with kidnapping, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery on a child and breaking and entering in the nighttime, police announced Saturday morning. She was shivering from the cold and sitting in a pile of leaves with a bruise on her newly shaved head when she was spotted by Tom and Marge Crosby, who were driving to their boutique in Amesbury at the time. ‘I don’t want to say a vision but that’s what it was — a vision,’ he told the Boston Herald. ‘I drove by and then quickly it flashed through my head. I said ‘Was that a baby or was it a doll?’’ Lyndon was reunited with her parents at Beverly Hospital and has since been transferred to Boston Children’s Hospital, where she is listed as being in a fair condition. ‘If I thought parents should be concerned, I would be the first one standing if front of this microphone and your cameras telling them to be concerned,’ he said.

Stevens said the kidnapping was not random and there is no “wider threat to the safety of local children and families.” Ipswich resident Tom Crosby said he spotted the naked toddler sitting alone along the road as he drove his wife, Marge, to a gift shop she owns in Amesbury Friday morning.
