Doorbell dispute between elderly neighbors in Boca leads to arrest.

BROOMFIELD, Colo. (AP) — Police say a 14-year-old girl has been stabbed at a school in suburban Denver and a 14-year-old classmate has been detained.

An 81-year-old Boca Raton man was arrested Tuesday after he allegedly grabbed his 82-year-old neighbor by the neck during a dispute over a doorbell, according to an arrest report. Palm Beach County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the Century Village development in unincorporated Boca Raton and met with an 82-year-old woman who said that Julius Mariasis, who lives two floors above the woman, had assaulted her. The woman told deputies the dispute began when Mariasis came to her apartment and “began yelling at her about their doorbells being on the same frequency,” the arrest report said. Police say the attack appears to be an isolated incident and there’s no reason to believe there’s any additional threat to the school, where both teens are students.

The school, which is at 5500 Aspen Creek Drive near West 136th Avenue and Sheridan Boulevard, was placed on lockout after the incident, Boulder Valley School District spokesman Briggs Gamblin said.
