California hunter survives after breaking leg, crawling in wild for nearly four days.

Sain, an avid hunter who’s a general contractor by trade, set off for an excursion last Wednesday in the Salmon-Challis National Forest in search of elk, KTVB-TV reported. “I thought that I wasn’t going to make it,” Sain said Thursday in a phone interview. “The terrain was too rough, my leg was broken, my foot was up to my ribcage …” What kept Sain alive through the four-day ordeal, he said, was his love for his wife, Jennifer, and their children, Brooke and Cole.
