Watch: UFC 299 weigh-in highlights

The main attractions for Saturday’s UFC 299 event are a go after Friday’s weigh-ins in Miami, Florida.

Both men in the main event, bantamweight champion Sean O’Malley and the only man to have scored a mixed martial arts win over him, Marlon ‘Chito’ Vera, successfully hit championship weight of 135-pounds ahead of their five-round bout. Top contender Merab Dvalishvili, who is serving as the back-up fighter to the headline bout, also weighed in at 135-pounds. Barring a last minute surprise, though, it appears unlikely that the Georgian fighter’s services will be required tomorrow night.

The co-main event, which is also set for five rounds, between Dustin Poirier and Benoit Saint-Denis will also proceed as planned after both lightweight fighters registered their weight on the scales without incident.

The debuting Michael ‘Venom’ Page weighed in at 170-pounds even for his fight of the night contender against Kevin Holland, who also registered the same weight, while there were also no incidents on the scales for the welterweight fight between Gilbert Burns and Jack Della Maddalena and the bantamweight showdown between Song Yadong and Petr Yan.

Just one fighter, CJ Vergara, missed weight ahead of a proposed flyweight bout opposite Asu Almabaev. Vergara was fined 30% of his purse but the fight will proceed.
