Body found in burning car ID’d; homicide investigation under way.

— The man suspected in the murder of a man whose body was found in a burned car has been arrested Wednesday evening, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office. The body, later identified as Dosa, was found inside a burning sedan down a steep embankment near the 9500 block of Cougar Road in the Deer Creek area about 11:40 a.m. A Gofundme site set up to help Dosa’s family says he was married with two children and describes him as a “light in this world” who was looked up to by many. According to Colorado Bureau of Investigation records, Geerdes has a history involving criminal mischief, drug possession, domestic violence, damage to property, contempt of court and violation of a protection order, among other criminal offenses.

On Monday, the Sheriff’s Office sent a tweet directed at cyclists who were in the area between 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. that were recording the ride with a helmet-mounted video camera.
