A Dallas auction gives you the chance to own a lock of Abraham Lincoln’s hair.

A lock of President Abraham Lincoln’s hair will be among several pieces of memorabilia honoring the Great Emancipator expected to be auctioned in Dallas on Saturday.Among countless items Ackerman said they have “ a blood stain pillow case or linen where Lincoln lay on” as well as a “wreath made from hair Lincoln’s horse old Bob.” He added ” a lot of these things are one of a kind.Among the items being offered by Heritage Auctions is a fragment of an 1862 letter written by Lincoln that’s addressed to a Baltimore, Maryland, attorney. They haven’t been on the market for 30 years, and this is an opportunity for people to acquire them,” (©2015 CBS Local Media, a division of CBS Radio Inc.

He was primarily an autograph collector, but he concentrated on Civil War and Lincoln for the most part. “After Lincoln died if you had something signed by Booth or owned by him you got rid of it,” says Ackerman.
