Authorities Identify Mom Of Baby Found Buried Alive In Compton.

On Thursday, detectives arrested Porche Laronda Washington, 33, on a $500,000 arrest warrant for attempted murder and child endangerment, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff’s officials.Police have arrested the mother of a baby who was found buried alive near a California riverbed after worried passers-by heard the child’s muffled cries. Washington is currently being held at the Century Regional Detention Facility and is expected to appear in court at 1:30 p.m. for her first arraignment.

Two officers found the girl after the Compton Sheriff’s Station received a call around 4pm on Friday from people who said had they heard a baby crying in the riverbed. Under the Safely Surrendered Baby Law, parents can leave babies three days old or younger with an employee at any California hospital or fire station without fear of arrest or prosecution.
