Delaware: Police Shoot Man in Wheelchair to Death.

The police killing of a man in a wheelchair was unjust, his mother said Thursday, but the authorities said the man was pulling a handgun from his waist when officers shot him. The shooting occurred Wednesday afternoon on a street in Wilmington, where officers responding to a report that a man had shot himself found Jeremy McDole, 28, was “still armed with a handgun,” Chief Bobby Cummings of the Wilmington Police Department said at a briefing. McDole’s mother, Phyllis McDole, interrupted, “There’s video showing that he didn’t pull a weapon,” she said, “I need answers.” Chief Cummings said officers told Mr. McDole with a gun drawn, shouting “show me your hands” and “drop the gun.” Other officers then appear with their guns drawn, yelling similar commands.
