‘I just bought a toy store': Woman donates thousands of toys to kids in need.

The holiday season just got a lot brighter for New York City children in homeless shelters, thanks to one woman’s whim to buy all the toys from a shuttered toy store and donate them to kids in need. “When I saw all of the toys just sitting in the store, it occurred to me that it would be so great to be able to somehow get them to the kids in the homeless shelters that have so little,” she told The Huffington Post. In a statement, Antonio Rodriguez, the Department of Homeless Services Director, said: “This is the first time anyone has ever bought out an entire store for a donation to our shelter kids” “There will definitely be a lot of smiles and happy kids when they get these toys,” Ms. Years later they sold the company, which handled marketing and public relations for technology businesses, to advertising firm Interpublic Group. “My whole life I’ve only given anonymously,” she said.
