2 Dead, Suspect Caught in Apparent Oklahoma Highway Road Rage Incident.

ARAPAHO, Okla. (AP) — A man firing randomly from his pickup truck killed two people in separate shootings on an Oklahoma interstate, a local sheriff said. At least two people were killed overnight Wednesday in an apparent road rage attack across western Oklahoma that involved multiple cars, authorities said.

Two people are dead after a driver launched a shooting spree that spanned 50 miles, hitting multiple vehicles going along Interstate-40, the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation revealed Thursday. As the vehicle traveled westbound through two more counties, multiple shots were fired at numerous cars, Custer County Sheriff Bruce Peoples told NBC News. The gunman – an unidentified male driver – was arrested early Thursday without incident in Custer County, and was being held in the county jail, authorities said. The man apparently continued driving west on the interstate, firing at vehicles as he drove erratically and at a high rate of speed, the sheriff said.

The man is being booked in the Custer County jail and authorities have not yet interviewed him to determine a motive, but they don’t suspect anyone was specifically targeted. “He shot so many vehicles that it would have been totally impractical to assume he knew them,” Peoples said, describing the case as a suspected road rage incident.
