1 Dead, 2 Injured In Shooting Outside Flatiron District Nightclub.

Three women were shot – one fatally – as they were leaving a nightclub on early Monday morning in a New York City neighborhood that’s popular with tourists.

The three women had stepped out of the Motivo nightclub on Broadway in the Flatiron district just after 4 a.m., when the shots were fired along Sixth Avenue, police said. The shooter, a man believed to be in his 20’s wearing a black and red hooded sweatshirt, fired several rounds before fleeing in a dark colored vehicle, possibly a BMW, BMW 1.91 % authorities said. He came back later and began shooting and then fled in a black BMW, police said. “The guy who started the fight, he was outside,” a man who works next door to the club told WCBS 880’s Sean Adams. “The other guy was inside because the other guy didn’t want to fight. But the one that was outside, he tried to get inside the club again, but the security did not let him go inside.” “I heard about six or seven loud, what seemed to be — I was in disbelief, but what seemed to be gunshots at the time,” a witness told CBS2’s Ilana Gold. “You could hear the yelling and screaming, but I was kind of hoping it was a fight for a minute, then reality kind of hit you and see people on the ground.
