4-year-old dies after being left in a truck in southeast Las Vegas.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Police in Las Vegas now say a 4-year-old boy who died in a stifling hot pickup truck might have been in the vehicle for up to three hours on a sunny 100-degree day. Medical and police units were notified of the incident just after 6:25 p.m. on the 4600 block of Welter Avenue, near East Sahara Avenue and South Nellis Boulevard, according to Metro. “It’s absolutely never OK to leave your kid unattended in any vehicle for any moment in time,” said Metro Lt. James Weiskopf at the scene of the tragedy. “In this circumstances here, what I would have to say is, whether you have children or not, make it a common habit, to always look in the passenger seat and always look in the back for our valuables, especially other people, to make sure they’re not unattended.”
