Driver ticketed for cutting off casino bus that crashed.

The driver who police say cut off the Resorts World Casino bus that slammed into a Queens building, injuring six people, was ticketed after the crash, officials said Tuesday. NEW YORK (CBSNweYork/AP) — The NYPD has ticketed a driver who they said caused a casino bus to crash into a three-story apartment building in Queens. Police sources said he forced bus driver James Honorat to jump the sidewalk and crash though the three-story building, leaving a gaping hole in the structure.

Anne Landers, who owns the building at the intersection of Woodhaven Blvd. and 63rd Ave., said her law practice is on the bottom floor and she has two tenants above the office. “The buses go down here at a high rate of speed,” he said. “He (the driver) had to be flying, they’re going up and down here all day to the aqueduct.” A vacate order was issued for the apartment building, which houses a mortgage services company, a law office and two residential apartments, said Buildings Department spokesman Alexander Schnell.
