Police have identified Euric Cain, 21, as the cold-blooded gunman seen in the chilling video they released on Saturday of the incident that unfolded early Friday morning. The driver, later identified as 25-year-old Peter Gold, tries to stop the man — who whips out a semiautomatic weapon, demanding that Gold give him money as he holds a gun to his head.

Gold is in his fourth year at Tulane’s med school and also earned a bachelor’s degree there, university president Michael Fitts said in a campus-wide email. Sociology professor Michele Adams told The Advocate Gold graduated from the college as the only person chosen for the department’s “Outstanding Student” award.
