Secret Service officer on leave in domestic incident fatally shot in D.C..

WASHINGTON — The U.S. Secret Service who had been suspended in a domestic incident in April was shot and killed Tuesday afternoon in Southwest Washington, a spokeswoman for the federal law enforcement agency confirmed.

Baldwin was placed on leave and his security clearance was suspended in April after he was charged with trying to break into his girlfriend’s house while armed. Baldwin was charged in April with first-degree burglary and destruction of property after D.C. police said he tried to kick in the front door of his former girlfriend’s apartment in the 3200 block of D Street SE. A police report says the woman was found crying and shaking and “appeared to be in fear of her life.” She told police her ex-boyfriend would not “leave her alone.” Authorities said Baldwin had left the apartment before police arrived.

NBC Washington reported that Baldwin was shot multiple times in that block and that police were looking for three people and a silver or gray car as part of the investigation.
