Metro’s Bethesda stop reopens, but only inbound trains stopping there after fire.

Metro said its transit police department was reporting “light to moderate” crowds along the Red Line. In Twitter messages, firefighters in Montgomery County said they were on the scene and investigating haze in the Bethesda station and smoke in the tunnel.

All of the escalators at the entrance of the Wheaton station are temporarily out of service, Metro said, because of “water infiltration.” Metro said in a Twitter message that elevator and bus services are available at the stop.
