Charleston storm heavily damages 10 homes; no injuries.

CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — Officials from the National Weather Service planned to confirm Friday if a tornado hit along the South Carolina coast after an overnight storm damaged 10 homes, blowing out windows, sending trees onto roofs and flipping over a trailer. CHARLESTON, SC (WCBD) — Late Thursday night, a thunderstorm rolled in off of the ocean, a severe thunderstorm was issued, immediately followed by Tornado Warning. JOHN’S ISLAND, SOUTH CAROLINA – On September 25, 2015 at approximately 1:00 AM the Charleston County Consolidated Dispatch Center (CCCDC) received numerous requests for assistance after severe weather passed through St. Andrews Fire Department, James Island Fire Department, Charleston County EMS, Charleston County Sheriff’s Office, and Charleston County Volunteer Rescue Squad were dispatched for numerous request for assistance. It is requested that the following areas be avoid: Main Road and River Road River Road at Brownswood Road Brownswood Road at Old Pond Road Old Pond Road and Main Road The American Red Cross has been requested to assist residents that have been affected by the severe weather.
