Reba McEntire Denies Calling Taylor Swift an ‘Entitled Little Brat’ After the 2024 Super Bowl

Reba McEntire will not let misinformation spread, no matter how flimsy the source material may be.

The 68-year-old country music star responded to a post from a Facebook page called “America Loves Liberty,” which claimed she confronted Taylor Swift for “laughing and drinking” during her performance of the National Anthem at the 2024 Super Bowl. “I let her have it afterward,” the post alleged McEntire said. “She’s an entitled brat.”

Now, does this sound like something Reba McEntire would say? Of course not. Does “America Loves Liberty” even mention where this so-called quote came from? Not as far as we can tell from McEntire’s screenshot of the post. In fact, they didn’t even spell her last name correctly, referring to the icon as “Reba McIntire.”

But does any of that mean the Reba star was willing to ignore the allegations? Absolutely not. Alexa, play “You Lie” by Reba McEntire!

“Please don’t believe everything you read,” McEntire captioned an Instagram post. “I did not say this. Taylor is a wonderful artist, strong role model and has done so much good for so many people and the music industry.”

On February 11, Reba McEntire performed the National Anthem at the Super Bowl in Las Vegas, Nevada. Of course, Taylor Swift was there to cheer on her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs player Travis Kelce, as his team defeated the San Francisco 49ers. Though Swift’s face wasn’t shown during the NFL’s broadcast of McEntire’s performance, her game-day reactions were captured at multiple points throughout the event.

And yes, Swift was seen drinking and dancing and having a good time during the Super Bowl. Sue her!

Swift’s screen time at NFL games was a hotly debated topic throughout football season, though Swift and Kelce largely ignored the criticism. “When you say a relationship is public, that means I’m going to see him do what he loves, we’re showing up for each other, other people are there and we don’t care,” Swift told Time in December 2023. “The opposite of that is you have to go to an extreme amount of effort to make sure no one knows that you’re seeing someone. And we’re just proud of each other.”

She continued, “I’m just there to support Travis. I have no awareness of if I’m being shown too much and pissing off a few dads, Brads, and Chads.”

In January, the 34-year-old Chiefs tight end told reporters that he and Swift don’t discuss the negativity, saying, “As long as we’re happy, we can’t listen to anything that’s outside noise—that’s all that matters.”
