2-year-old dies after being hit by train in western Kentucky.

HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. (AP) — A 2-year-old western Kentucky boy who was wandering around with a dog a couple of blocks from home has died after they both were hit by a train.

According to a Hopkinsville Police Department report, HPD is investigating the death of Trayton Joiner, Hopkinsville, who was hit as he was walking on the railroad tracks at 9:30 a.m. today, Jan. 19 just south of Skyline Drive. Joiner was treated for his injuries at the scene by Hopkinsville Fire Department EMTs and then transported via ambulance to Jennie Stuart Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead. © Copyright 2015 SurfKY News Group, Inc.
