2 Manhattan Beach schools closed after threat.

MANHATTAN BEACH, Calif. (AP) — An anonymous threat has led officials to cancel classes at a Manhattan Beach high school and a nearby elementary school. “Early this morning, we received another threat to Mira Costa High School,” he wrote. “The email threat was specific in nature and Dr. (Ben) Dale took quick action to close the school for the day.” Matthews said no direct threats were made to any other schools, “but we are also going to close Pennekamp Elementary School for the day, due to its proximity to Mira Costa.” Students reported on Twitter that their principal, Dale, told them school was closed over a public address system after they assembled for “zero period.” Matthews wrote that he was collaborating with Manhattan Beach police and emergency responders and “I will be able to get more information to you very soon.” Student journalists at Mira Costa tweeted that graffiti was found on the Redondo Union High School campus in Redondo Beach that said, “You’re all animals headed to the slaughterhouse just like you deserve.”
