1 Dead, 1 Seriously Injured In US Bank Stadium Construction Incident.

The workers, from Berwald Roofing, fell about 7:45 a.m. on the stadium’s north side, said a statement from John Wood, senior vice president for Mortenson Construction.

MINNEAPOLIS — The contractor for the Minnesota Vikings stadium under construction says one worker has died and another has been injured while doing roofing work. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis has been stopped after one construction worker died — and another was seriously injured — after falling at the construction site Wednesday morning.

One victim was taken to the hospital shortly after the incident, while Minneapolis Fire Department crews needed to extract the other victim from a crevice by using a rescue basket. Construction workers wearing their yellow vests filed out of the stadium in a grim mood; several said confirmation of the fatality that one of their colleagues had died.
