1. Love & Anarchy
In this Swedish series, married consultant Sofie begins a consulting job at a publishing house and much-younger office IT guy Max soon snaps a photo of Sofie indulging her compulsive masturbation habit at work. (Max’s own taste for public sex with strangers leads to oral sex onscreen ahead of his and Sofie’s very hot sex scenes.) His attempt at blackmail results in a sexually charged game of dares intended to “create anarchy,” including one very creative use of a tube of lipstick.

Star Toni Colette’s world-class acting already makes this one-season series set in England worth watching, but there’s more to like from there. (When it premiered, she joked that she was the “first woman to have an orgasm on the BBC.”) Collette portrays a married, middle-aged therapist who is trying to rediscover her sex drive, and she isn’t the only character grappling with their libido in this comedy. Private moments of self-pleasure snowball into role-play, fantasy, and extramarital affairs in what ultimately becomes a meditation on open marriage and hooking up at every age.
5. Lady Voyeur
In this sexed-up Brazilian erotic thriller, Miranda, a beautiful hacker, becomes ensnared in an investigation that’s full of suspense and danger—and has some transformational sex along the way. 6. The Magicians
The five-season series adapted from Lev Grossman’s novels of the same name has been called “a grown-up Harry Potter.” The grad students at Brakebills University for Magical Pedagogy enthusiastically enjoy sex, drugs, and unexpected musical numbers to Taylor Swift’s “Set It Off” between magic lessons. The series is set in Chicago, but each episode focuses on the love lives of different characters in all kinds of relationships. Some are married, some are parents (or want-to-be parents), some are heartbroken, others are falling in love for the very first time ever. 11. Valeria
This Spanish SATC-style rom-com follows an aspiring novelist having a hard time finding inspiration both creatively and in her relationship, along with her three closest friends. Then Valeria meets Victor, an Extremely Hunky Man, which kicks off a love triangle with him and her husband. Let’s not beat around the bush: Victor and Valeria don’t just have sex, but truly fuck each other’s brains out. Valeria’s friends also embark on various sexual escapades, in case that wasn’t enough: We’re talking sex in the workplace, hookups in a public square, quickies, sexting…you name it. And the non-scandalous aspects of the show are just as fun to watch too.
12. One Day
In this poignant, horny British series, we follow Dex and Em as they meet on the same day of each passing year, beginning with their graduation night in 1988 and unfolding over decades. It’s a love story, sure, but the will-they-or-won’t-they element offers up a ton of hot sexual tension (and more)—and there’s a skinny-dipping scene that will make you want to drive to the nearest beach and take it all off with someone you’ve had your eye on for a while (or at least fantasize about that scenario).
13. Dark Desire
Okay, let’s take a look at the episode titles to give you a sense of what this show is all about: “It’s Just Sex,” “One Last Night of Passion,” and “Love, That Word” are just a few, and that’s a pretty good picture of what to expect when you watch this hugely popular Mexican erotic thriller. The show is packed with erotic encounters, untoward desires, and, uh, naked murder. We promise, though: There’s a lot to be turned on by here.
14. She’s Gotta Have It
Nola Darling is played by DeWanda Wise in the Netflix adaptation of a 1986 Spike Lee movie. Okay—so maybe the dialogue in this version is dated. Sure, some plot lines fall a bit flat. That doesn’t matter—the point is watching Nola sail through Brooklyn from one of her hot lovers to the next as she has a lot of sex. The scenes between Darling and her many paramours vary from seriously erotic to very funny. Spending time with these beautiful people as they enjoy each other’s company to an R&B-heavy soundtrack will give you a lot of material to fantasize about the next time .
15. You
Penn Badgley stars as the menacing, twisted, and wildly hot Joe Goldberg, the protagonist of this original series that will definitely appeal to anyone with role-playing fantasies on the darker side. Throughout each season, Joe is overcome by passion to the point that it consumes his life, as well as the women’s that he desires. We can’t say much more without spoilers, but the sex is really good. 16. The Hook Up Plan
Elsa, the charmingly awkward protagonist, is having trouble getting over a breakup—but that leads to sexual tension with Jules, an escort that her friends secretly hire to help her move on. The Hook Up Plan is rife with lovable romantic comedy tropes, plus lots and lots of Jules-based steaminess. He and Elsa aren’t the only ones getting it in: The supporting characters, Emilie and Antoine, are behind a show-stealing outdoor, up-against-the-wall sex scene that’s romantic and forbidden at the same time.
17. Tales of the City
This series is based on Armistead Maupin’s famous novels, and its first run as a TV miniseries kicked off in 1993. The second and third installments of the miniseries aired in 1998 and 2001, all starring the same leading cast. Netflix revived the series for a fourth go-around in 2019 with some of those same key members from the original cast picking up where the plot left off 20 years earlier. The show won the GLAAD Media Award for outstanding limited series for its loving portrayal of queer life in San Francisco. Not only does it burst with intimate sex scenes, but it beautifully portrays how sexuality ripples out into other parts of life. 19. What/If
This miniseries from Revenge creator Mike Kelley is a whirlwind of politics, power, and sex. Renée Zellweger plays Anne, an influential venture capitalist who approaches a young scientist, Lisa, with a tempting offer: She’ll finance Lisa’s health care startup…in exchange for one night alone with the founder’s husband. Exactly what that night would entail remains a seductive mystery—one full of lust, blurred lines, and lots of money.
20. Tiny Pretty Things
This erotic thriller’s selling points include, but are definitely not limited to, scissoring, oral sex, and intensely hot ballet dancers with secrets to hide. It follows a cast of competitive, brooding students and teachers at a fictional elite dance academy in Chicago as they clandestinely sleep with their roommates, cheat on each other, and, in general, bring the drama. You don’t have to wait long for the sexy parts: Someone’s getting naked not long into the pilot episode, and 20 minutes later, there’s a sex scene between two gorgeous guys who swear it doesn’t mean anything. (Guess whether that works out that way.)
21. Outlander
This three-time Golden Globe Award–nominated show is for the Bridgerton fanatics out there—or really, anyone who gets turned on by a little historical smut. In 1945, a happily married World War II nurse is transported back to 1743 Scotland, where she wakes up among a group of hot rebel warriors in a world much more dangerous than her own. Soon, she begins a torrid relationship with one of said warriors—but what about the husband she left behind? Netflix currently offers seasons one through six—but you can catch the seventh on Starz if you’re hooked.
22. Sex/Life
Mood-setting lighting, killer camera angles, and straight-up beautiful people make the sex in this show a joy to behold, but, sure, there’s also a plot. The gist is, Billie, a suburban wife and mother, has very detailed flashbacks to several—SEVERAL!—graphic sexual trysts with an ex she just can’t seem to shake from her mind. How that all affects her present is something you’ll have to watch for yourself to find out. BYOV (bring your own vibrator), for real.
23. Bridgerton
Ah, Bridgerton—otherwise known as the Show That Broke the Internet when it aired on Netflix in late 2020. One YouTube comment says it best: “Gossip Girl + Pride and Prejudice + 50 Shades of Grey = Bridgerton.” If that’s not enough to convince you to watch this steamy series, know that it comes from the mind of Shonda Rhimes, television genius. 24. Sexify

25. Fatal Seduction
This South African thriller follows Nandi, a woman whose marriage is on the rocks, as her desire leads her down unexpected paths. The show is packed with passionate affairs, murderously jealous hearts, physical chemistry that you can almost feel through the screen, and steamy-as-all-get-out hookups (including a scene of very hot sex on the beach) that lead to unforeseen dangers. We love a high-stakes tryst, and this definitely fits the bill.
26. Sex and the City
In this absolutely iconic comedy set in New York, Carrie Bradshaw is a writer “who knows good sex…and isn’t afraid to ask,” according to a bus advertisement for her column in the opening credits. In the show itself, she and her friends Samantha (the raunchy one), Charlotte (the prim one), and Miranda (the smart one) barrel through New York City, wearing fabulous clothes and boning every man they can find. Sometimes, that’s hot. Sometimes, it’s simply entertaining. Either way: a must-watch.
