Talking Point: Two Months On, Did Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 Live Up To The Hype?
It was such a long wait…
It’s weird that we’re not talking about Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 as much anymore. Pure Xbox was on an indefinite hiatus when the game was first revealed back at The Game Awards in 2019… it’s been that long since it was revealed!
And of course, the past few years have built more and more hype for Ninja Theory’s latest release, to the point where it was regularly predicted as one of the potential highlights of the entire Xbox Series X|S generation.
The question is, has it lived up to the hype?
As you can see in our Pure Xbox review of Hellblade 2 up above, we mentioned that the game was an incredible spectacle for the Series X and Series S, but that its story and gameplay weren’t as enticing as in the original Hellblade.
So yeah… even though we gave it a “Good” 7/10, you could perhaps say it didn’t live up to the hype for us. Then again, in terms of being a technical marvel for Xbox’s latest consoles, we think it absolutely managed to achieve that!
