After a disappointing 4-8 finish to the 2023 season, head coach Deion Sanders is hoping to lead Colorado to a better showing this year.

However, DraftKings Sportsbook isn’t setting the bar too high, as the betting lines were released for the Buffaloes’ season win total on Wednesday with the over/under listed at 5.5. The line for the over is -140 (bet $140 to win $100), and the line for the under is +120 (bet $100 to win $120).

Colorado is set to compete in the Big 12 this season following the dissolution of the Pac-12.

The team’s success will depend largely on the star duo of quarterback Sheduer Sanders, Sanders’ son, and two-way phenom Travis Hunter. They are regarded as two of the best players in college football and potential first-round picks in the 2025 NFL draft, so they will be motivated to prove that they’re worth the hype.

The Buffaloes also underwent a roster overhaul for the second straight year, but it wasn’t as substantial as the 86 newcomers that were brought in ahead of the 2023 season.

“As a team, you’ve got to be able to bond and can’t have no hate toward each other,” defensive back Shilo Sanders, the other son of Coach Prime, told ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg earlier this month. “You can’t [have] poison. We got rid of a lot of poison last year. And this year, we’re in a better space, clicking as a team and we expect to win.”

The improved roster has Coach Prime confident that Colorado will be able to surprise some people in 2024.

“The talent level we have is so much different,” Deion Sanders told Rittenberg. “That’s why the expectation level is so much different.”
