Another day, another dominant effort from Team USA in track & field. The Star-Spangled Banner rang out at Stade de France all day as the Americans as a whole passed the 100-medal mark for these Olympics.

Here’s where Thursday’s golds came from for the Americans:

  • Women’s 400-meter hurdles: Syndney McLaughlin-Levrone (gold) and Anna Cockrell (silver)
  • Men’s 110-meter hurdles: Grant Holloway (gold) and Daniel Roberts (silver)
  • Women’s long jump: Tara-Davis Woodhall (gold) and Jasmine Moore (bronze)
  • Men’s 200 meters: Kenneth Bednarik (silver) and Noah Lyles (bronze), despite dealing with COVID-19)
  • Men’s sport climbing: Sam Watson (bronze)

Through Thursday, the United States remains far ahead in the total medal count with 103. China is second with 73. The U.S. also maintained the outright lead for gold medals with 30, one ahead of China’s 29. The United States also leads the way in silvers (38) and bronzes (35).

The United States entered these Games with the most medals ever won in the Summer Olympics. The U.S. also holds the record for most gold medals won in a single games with 83 captured in 1984, one of the country’s host years that took place as the Soviet Union led a 12-nation boycott of the Los Angeles Games. Such lofty totals will not happen this year. In Paris, America is simply looking to build upon the success that it had three years ago when the U.S. brought home 39 gold medals, 41 silvers and 33 bronze.

Check out the 2024 Paris Olympics medal count below. It will be updated regularly as events conclude through the conclusion of the Summer Olympics on Aug. 11.
