Worlds 2024 kicked off as the top League of Legends sides in the World headed to Europe. MAD Lions are the home side during the Play-In stage and they’ll need to make that advantage count. Game Two of their Play-In journey is against PSG Esports. MAD secured a good Game One victory against Vikings on the opening day and they’ll want to build from that.

Below is our recap of the series with all games in the Play-In round being BO3. The article will be updated throughout the series. Keep up to date with Worlds with our complete format and schedule article.

MAD Lions vs PSG Recap

MAD Lions vs PSG Game 1

MAD vs PSG Game 1

A big game was needed for MAD, with 100 Thieves losing yesterday MAD is well aware of how easy it is to drop at this early stage. A really strong Early Game for MAD saw them secure a big early lead; however, it wasn’t all so easy as PSG made a huge play around the second Grub fight, swinging the lead back to themselves. As the game went on, MAD looked to grow their lead, as they started to make up for some sketch plays in the mid game.

By the late game, it looked like MAD’s game to lose as they postured for the win. A strong game overall for MAD, who looked to secure victory in their Game Two of Worlds 2024. PSG had their chances, however, they’ll need to improve ahead of Game Two.

MAD Lions vs PSG Game 2

MAD vs PSG Game 2

A big Game Two is required for PSG who badly need to get back into this series. MAD secured the first blood, and the early game was once again in a good space for the European side. PSG, however, got right back into it as the game moved into the mid-game. PSG continued to hold the lead into the latter stages of the mid-game with MAD starting to look on edge.

It took them a big fight, but PSG did indeed claim the win, taking the series to a third game. It looked a bit sketchy for them for a while with MAD looking like they might get back into it. But, PSG held firm and locked in a big win as we headed to Game Three.

  • First Blood: MAD
  • Game Time: 34:51
  • Gold: 68.1k – 58.1k
  • Kills: 18-7

MAD Lions vs PSG Game 3

MAD vs PSG game 3

We expected a tight series, so it’s fitting that the series heads into a final game. The loser isn’t eliminated, however, a win makes things a lot easier for you. As for MAD, it will feel like a failure if they lose this series, so they need to get back to it. The early game remained tight, though PSG were always slightly ahead in this crucial final game of the series.

A huge swing in the game for MAD as they were able to catch out PSG taking out four members of the PSG side. MAD used this to push into the Baron pit, turning the game on its head. With a Swiss Stage place on the line, MAD looked to play it safe, and not overextend. While MAD postured for Baron, it forced PSG to make it and move, and make a move they did. Sadly for PSG it wasn’t enough, with MAD securing an ACE and the series victory.

  • First Blood: PSG
  • Game Time: 33:02
  • Gold: 62k – 56.9k
  • Kills: 13-9
  • Turrets: 10-3
  • Dragons: 1-2
  • Barons: 1-0
