The Great Escape Grand Prix, presented by Triumph.

We are having the Winners Take Ya’ll Charity Ride: The Great Escape Grand Prix Grass Race this weekend in Georgia. The race will take place on a beautiful 71-acre farm with killer views and incredible rolling hills. The race is a motocross festival if you will, and features nearly 50 classes for vintage and modern bikes, so if you’re five years old or 75 years old, or if your bike is five years old or 75 years old, we have a class for you. Racing will take place both Saturday and Sunday.

My friend Andy Dale, who I worked with and became great friends with (working at the fire station), has a wife Victoria who was diagnosed with ALS, so we jumped in to help. Multiple tracks in Georgia also jumped in and sent staff and equipment, all in an effort to come together and show some love to this family. Victoria was a teacher up until the end of last year when her health would no longer allow her to do so. They have three young school-aged kids. So, we are hopefully going to ease the financial burden they’ve incurred.

Winners Take Ya’ll

We’ve got nearly every Georgia legend you can imagine coming: AMA haul of Famer Barry Higgins will be our Grand Marshal; former SX champions Ezra Lusk, Keith Turpin, and Shae Bentley will be in the house along with Tim Ferry, Matt Walker, and Billy Liles. We’ve named several sections of the track after these legends including my favorite: the Harry Bigguns Tabletop (the jump has an eight-foot photo of Barry looking directly at you in disappointment every lap).

We have a $1,000 40+ 125cc only class, thanks to David Sutton, taking place on Saturday along with the regular classes. David Sutton also stepped up to offer a $1,000 purse for Sunday in honor of my dad which was super cool. We also have a team race at the end of Saturday’s race, followed by the Fireball 400 mini moto (I don’t know the details just yet except there will be teams of two, Fireball, and mini moto bikes). Then we have food trucks, live music, and college football on the big screen.

Presenting sponsor Triumph will be on site offering demos of their 250 all day Saturday and Sunday.

Yamaha and the bLUcRU will have a Yamaha-only bLUcRU class for big bikes, and they are paying the entry fees for the first 20 PW50 riders!

The race is AMA sanctioned and is also a part of the SEVMX series (Southeast Vintage MX).

The race is driven by a healthy dose of firefighters who served alongside Andy along with our entire crew at Winners Take Y’all, in total some 45 staffers have joined in to help!

The race is actually taking place on Andy and Victoria’s property so we can show the family how the motocross community steps up!

It’s been an absolute blast putting this together.
