Kent launches £2bn tender race for highways deal
Current contractor Amey Highways has been fixing roads across the county since 2011.
The deal was originally for ten years but was first extended during the covid-19 crisis then again this August due to “market volatility.”
A tender has now been published inviting expressions of interest with the aim of a winner being chosen by November 2025 ready to take on the new contract when the current deal expires in April 2026.
The initial term of the contract is expected to be 14 years with an option to extend for a maximum seven more years.
Firms looking to bid for the job can apply by November 25 online here.
