Husqvarna Expands Electric Motorcycle Range with the New Pioneer!

Husqvarna Mobility has announced the latest addition to its electric motorcycle lineup: the Pioneer. This all-new, street-legal model is optimized for off-road use and marks another step in Husqvarna’s growth within the electric mobility sector.

Key Features of the Husqvarna Pioneer

The Pioneer is equipped with a 5.5 kWh lithium-ion battery, providing a WMTC range of up to 137 kilometers and up to three hours of continuous riding. The battery is complemented by an in-house developed 11 kW motor, which can reach a peak output of 19.2 kW and delivers 37.6 Nm of torque, aimed at delivering a high-performance experience.

Durability and Chassis Design

Built on a chromium-molybdenum frame, the Pioneer’s chassis is designed specifically for this model, integrating the battery and motor as load-bearing elements. This design reduces overall weight and enhances the motorcycle’s geometry and flexibility, intended to provide a responsive and balanced ride.

Customizable Riding Experience

The Pioneer includes selectable ride modes, offering three options that can adjust power output to suit varying rider skills and terrain types. Additionally, a Traction Control feature is available in all modes, aiming to enhance safety and control. Riders can also choose from three energy recuperation levels for the battery, which can be adjusted directly from the handlebar-mounted switch.

Simplified Controls and Brake Layout

The Pioneer aims to cater to a wide range of riders by removing traditional controls like a clutch or gearbox. A rear brake lever on the ProTaper handlebars allows for easier braking, especially for those new to motorcycle riding.

Charging and Battery Maintenance

The 5.5 kWh battery can be fully recharged in approximately eight hours using the standard 660 W charger, or in about two hours with an optional 3.3 kW charger. For uninterrupted riding, a fully charged battery can be swapped in about 10 minutes. Designed for rugged use, all critical components of the Pioneer are IP67 rated, ensuring they are dustproof and waterproof.

Suspension and Additional Features

With adjustable WP suspension, the Pioneer provides a high degree of customizability. The front WP XACT forks offer 250 mm of travel, and the rear WP XPLOR PDS shock provides 240 mm of travel. Riders can further fine-tune compression and rebound settings to optimize their off-road experience. The bike is also equipped with Braktec brakes, Michelin enduro tires, and ProTaper handlebars, rounding out its high-performance specifications.

Availability

The 2025 Husqvarna Pioneer will be available globally from February 2025. For specific details regarding pricing and regional availability, Husqvarna recommends contacting local authorized dealers.
