Casey Cochran Suffers Practice Crash, Leg Injury

Unfortunately, we have our first official injury of the off-season to report. New Rockstar Energy GasGas Factory Racing rider Casey Cochran took to Instagram this morning to announce he suffered a leg injury on his first day of boot camp in Florida while prepping for the 2025 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship. He underwent surgery and starting his recovery process.

The 2023 Supercross Futures Champion was set for his first full season of supercross in 2025 after earning his pro supercross license and testing the waters. Racing for Rockstar Energy Husqvarna, Cochran finished 15th, 15th, and 16th, respectively, in his three starts (Foxborough SX, Nashville SX, and Philadelphia SX). Cochran earned national #40 after finishing 13th in the 250 Class AMA Pro Motocross Championship and switched from Husqvarna to the new, in-house factory GasGas effort—announced just last week.

The 2025 supercross season starts January 11, 2025, with the Anaheim 1 Supercross (250SX West Region) and the 250SX East Region season starts February 8, 2025, with the Tampa SX. There is no timetable on Cochran’s return to riding, although he stated: “I’m determined to be 100 percent and get back on the bike as soon as possible.”

Below is his full post.

“Little update for you guys! I had a really productive two weeks of testing in California with the Rockstar GASGAS Factory Racing team, but unfortunately, I injured my leg on the first day of bootcamp back here in Florida. Surgery is done, I’m now focused on my recovery and doing everything I can to get back to full strength. I’m determined to be 100 percent and get back on the bike as soon as possible.”
