Surprise! Xbox’s Avowed Has Been Confirmed For Another Platform
Even Blizzard’s digital service “is an Xbox”

Well, here’s a bit of a surprise, Xbox has today revealed it’s bringing Obsidian Entertainment’s upcoming fantasy RPG Avowed to not only Xbox Series X|S, Windows, and Steam platforms but also Blizzard’s Battle.net launcher on PC.
This was confirmed in an announcement today on Xbox Wire. While we’ve seen this sort of thing has been done before with Activision’s library of games like Call of Duty and Crash Bandicoot, this is slightly different as it’s an Xbox Game Studios title.
There’s also been a lot of talk about the future of Battle.net now that Blizzard is under Microsoft’s ownership, so this seems to be evidence Blizzard’s digital platform won’t be going anywhere (at least any time soon). Blizzard has even shared the following message on its socials:
“Avowed joins the Battle.net family! We look forward to seeing how you enjoy Avowed on Battle.net’s premium PC experience when it launches on February 18! Pre-order now!”
This announcement times in with a new Xbox campaign promoting pretty much every gaming device as an Xbox.
Along with this news, Xbox has revealed the pre-order options for Avowed – there are two digital editions and one physical edition of the game. This includes the standard digital edition for $69.99, the premium edition for $89.99 (including five days early access), and the physical edition for $94.99 including a steelbook.
Pre-orders for Avowed are now live across all platforms and it will be available to play “day one” on Xbox Game Pass.
What are your thoughts about Microsoft releasing its games on Battle.net? Will you be pre-ordering Avowed? Let us know in the comments.
