Auburn football player shot and injured in North Carolina
Auburn defensive lineman Trill Carter was reportedly injured in a Charlotte shooting on Thursday, according to a report from The Athletic.
The report said Carter suffered a bullet wound to the lower stomach after being shot by an unknown assailant around 11:45 p.m. on Thursday night.
The incident reportedly occurred in a parking lot outside a condo development in Uptown Charlotte.
Carter spent one season at Auburn in 2024 following stints at Minnesota and Texas. He totaled four tackles in nine games for Auburn in 2024.
Reports are saying the 2025 NFL Draft Prospect was treated for the gunshot wound and released in 2 and a half hours. Thankfully he did not require surgery.
Carter is considered a priority free agent in the 2025 NFL Draft. The standout Auburn defensive tackle is a tough cookie! We are praying he recovers quickly.
