Kyren Lacy wanted on charges of negligent homicide
Louisiana State Police have issued an arrest warrant for former LSU wide receiver Kyren Lacy, charging him with negligent homicide and felony hit-and-run. The charges stem from a fatal traffic crash on December 17, 2024, which resulted in the death of Herman Hall, a former Marine from Thibodaux, Louisiana, and injuries to two others.
According to police, Lacy was driving a 2023 Dodge Charger at high speeds southbound on Louisiana Highway 20 when he recklessly passed multiple vehicles by crossing the centerline and entering the northbound lane in a designated No-Passing Zone. This dangerous maneuver led to a head-on collision between a Kia Cadenza and a Kia Sorento.
Investigators allege that the Cadenza, which was traveling north, swerved into the southbound lane to avoid Lacy’s Charger, causing the collision with the Sorento. Lacy, however, is accused of fleeing the scene without stopping to assist the victims, call emergency services, or report his involvement.
The warrant was issued following an investigation, and just two days after the crash, Lacy declared for the 2025 NFL Draft. He was invited to the 2025 Reese’s Senior Bowl which is scheduled for February 1st.
