Dylan Efron Is a Major Player in The Traitors Season 3—and His Brother Zac Thinks He Could Win
THE TRAITORS IS finally back for season 3, and it’s filled with twists and drama. Across the reality television landscape, celebrities are plucked from The Real Housewives franchise, Survivor, Big Brother, and more to scheme their way to the end.
It’s an elaborate game of cat and mouse. Most participants end up as faithfuls whose main goal is to perform daily challenges that increase the pot of money for the winner at the end. For three handpicked contestants, however, there’s a more complicated game to play. The trio, decided by fashionably-dressed host Alan Cumming, are deemed “the traitors,” and tasked with “murdering” the faithfuls each night. If they can avoid detection by the end of the game, they win the prize money. But if the faithfuls manage to root out the traitors, the money is theirs.
Similar to another thrilling reality hit, Netflix’s The Mole, The Traitors thrives off of how its antagonists can cause chaos. The added bonus is that contestants are television stars, so they naturally bring heightened levels of drama.
Each season features a brand new cast, so fans of various reality shows have an added surprise in store when fresh-faced celebrities arrive at the illustrious Scotland grounds. It also means fans of say, Survivor, may not recognize all of the Housewives cast and vice versa. There are likely a few faces you may not recognize.
With the third season now underway, viewers are curious about who the various cast members are. And as the show unfolds, one of the cast members who is getting a lot of attention is Dylan Efron. In case you need a refresher, here’s where you likely know him from.
Who is Dylan Efron from The Traitors?
Dylan Efron, as you could probably guess, is the younger brother of actor (and MH cover star Zac Efron). Zac Efron is well-known for his various roles in the award-winning The Iron Claw, The Greatest Showman, and more. His career spans decades, starting with a small role in the cult-favorite sci-fi series Firefly.
While Dylan hasn’t gone the route of acting like Zac has, he is still involved in Hollywood, serving as a production coordinator on Ready Player One (with director Steven Spielberg), A Star Is Born (with director Bradley Cooper) and American Sniper (with director Clint Eastwood), per his IMDb page. Most recently, Dylan served as a producer on Down to Earth with Zac Efron, where he even appeared on a few episodes alongside his brother. The short-lived documentary series followed Zac Efron as he traveled the world and immersed himself in nature.
And Dylan has a similar interest in travel and adventure. He rock climbs, skis, and of course, hangs with his brother. According to an interview with JustJared, Dylan Efron is also a triathlon racer and has competed in IRONMAN Arizona.
Zac Efron Thinks His Brother Will Win The Traitors
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Zac Efron put full faith in his brother to win the game.
“I think he’s going to win,” he told Entertainment Tonight. “He’s really good at games and I just have a good feeling about it.”
And so far, Dylan (who’s a faithful) is doing well to uncover who the traitors are in the game. Whether he’s able to keep himself safe long enough to take one of the traitors out still remains to be seen, though. Already he’s accused Bob the Drag Queen (of RuPaul’s Drag Race fame) of being a traitor. And while he’s right, making an accusation so early in the game could be his downfall. However, The Traitors is a show all about shocking reveals and unpredictable twists. As the show unfolds, Dylan could end up a major player who manages to survive despite the traitors’ attempts to get rid of him.
The Traitors season 3 premiered on January 9, with three episodes for viewers to binge. If you’re eager to see how long Dylan Efron lasts (and if he can win the whole game) you’ll have to tune in each week to see what the show has in store for him and the rest of the celeb players.
