Saints interview Jemal Singleton for Offensive Coordinator position

The New Orleans Saints are getting down to the last coaching interviews of this offseason, and soon, a new defensive and offensive coordinator could be announced. Kellen Moore has chosen to interview multiple candidates from the Eagles coaching staff, and New Orleans has continued that trend. Per Adam Schefter, the Saints interviewed Eagles RB coach Jemal Singleton to be their next offensive coordinator.

Eagles assistant head coach and RB coach Jemal Singleton interviewed for the Saints offensive coordinator job, per source. One Eagles official recently described Singleton as “a big part of what we do on offense and a rising star going forward.”

Singleton joins Doug Nussmeier and Robert Prince as the other candidates for interviewed for their offensive coordinator position.

With the Philadelphia Eagles, Singleton has consistently produced great running back seasons no matter who the players are. Obviously, this season, Singleton coached an RB room led by Offensive Player of the Year Saquon Barkley. People may point to that and question how much influence Singleton had with the Eagles RBs this year, but no matter where he has coached, the running game has had success. As a leader, he is everything a team looks for, and that could also be a driving factor why he is in consideration for the Saints offensive coordinator position.
