This is a must-win for Marvin Vettori.
The Italian former UFC middleweight title contender has gone 2-2 in the cage since losing his title bid to then-champ Israel Adesanya back in the summer of 2021, taking decision wins over Paulo Costa and Roman Dolidze while losing to Robert Whittaker and Jared Cannonier in that spell.
At this weekend’s UFC event, Vettori will once again take on Dolidze where he knows that he must repeat the win if he is to harbour any intentions of advancing towards title contention in a division currently ruled by the champion Dricus du Plessis who underscored his status as middleweight pacesetter with a recent win over Sean Strickland.
Dolidze, meanwhile, will come into the rematch on the back of successive wins over Kevin Holland and Anthony Smith.
