The Voice - Season 27

If you’re not feeling well, it’s okay to just walk away. But unfortunately for some unlucky fans, it means having to figure out something else to do in Vegas this weekend. Kelly Clarkson canceled her opening concert dates for her Las Vegas residency this weekend to prevent any further damage to her voice after some intense rehearsals. “I am beyond grateful that you always show up for me and I am devastated to have to postpone tonight and tomorrow’s opening at Caesars. The prep and rehearsals have taken a toll on my voice,” Clarkson wrote in a statement on July 4. “I want the shows to be perfect for y’all and I need to protect myself from doing serious damage so I am taking this weekend and next week to rest up so that we can deliver what you all deserve.”

The “Studio Session” residency sounds exactly like in the name: a show that’s made to feel like a small but intimate recording studio. Could this postponement be an opportunity for a reverse Kellyoke, where other artists cover Clarkson’s songs for the weekend? Unlikely, because we seriously doubt anyone would want to put themselves in position to be told “Well, it’s not as good as when Kelly Clarkson sang it…”
