There is both good and bad news for those eagerly awaiting the anime adaptation of The Invisible Man and His Soon-to-Be Wife (a.k.a. Tōmei Otoko to Ningen Onna: Sonouchi Fūfu ni Naru Futari in Japanese). The bad news? Even though the show was supposed to start this year, it’s been delayed to 2026. The good news? It’s still coming out, a teaser trailer has dropped, and we have info on the cast and crew.

The series has Mitsuho Seta (known for being a scriptwriter on Solo Camping for Two and a key animator for BELLE) helming the project as director, plus taking care of series scripts. The music is composed by Ruka Kawada, whose credits include Isekai Quartet and Is the order a rabbit?

The voice actors for the two leads were revealed: Yōhei Azakami (Tecchō Suehiro in Bungo Stray Dogs) plays Akira Tounome, and Yuka Nukui (Serina in How a Realist Hero Rebuilt the Kingdom) plays Shizuka Yakou.

Seven Seas Entertainment publishes the original manga by Iwatobineko and gave this description for the plot:

The Invisible Man and His Soon-to-Be Wife Plot

Yakou Shizuka, a quiet and bashful woman, works at a detective agency. Her boss Tounome, who owns the company, is the gentlemanly type, kind and dapper, though he has an extra talent—he’s invisible! His special ability is perfect for detective work, but he quickly comes to find it doesn’t work on Yakou, who is blind and always knows if he’s near. Charmed, Tounome is determined to get her to date him and isn’t against using his many skills. Yakou’s quirky coworkers, a contrarian human man and a sisterly beastwoman, kindly watch over her as she stumbles and blushes through the uncharted waters of office romance.
