While some celebs are still clinging to their Matrix-inspired shades with dear life, others are ready to usher in a new wave of throwback shades: bug-eyed lenses. And not just classic oversized shades like Jackie O’s signature sunglasses, but even more alien styles popularized by Paris Hilton and the Olsen twins in the early aughts.

For the second pap-walk in a row, Lawrence was photographed in NYC wearing a pair of black oversized sunnies with a white graphic t-shirt, lace-trimmed slip skirt, and strappy white sandals, giving the entire look a decidedly summer feel, aside from her red corduroy Fendi baguette bag. Meanwhile, Sophie Turner embraced oversized shades in their most insect-like form on August 14, opting for a pair of curved shades in lieu of the nineties styles that have reigned supreme for the past few years.

Turner styled the Fall 2025 accessory in two ways, pairing the avant-garde lenses with her coziest sweats and slim black Puma Speedcats before dressing them up with a snake-print body-con dress and Burgundy peep-toed heels.
