Jessica Vestal Is an Unforgettable Love Is Blind Contestant

NOT EVERYONE GETS a happy ending on Love Is Blind, but that doesn’t mean their stories aren’t as important as those who make it to the altar. Season 6 quickly narrowed down the romantic hopefuls we’re going to follow out of the pods. That said, we spent a lot of time with contestants who came close to getting a proposal, but for whatever reason, they didn’t have a strong enough connection with their potential matches.

Season 6 had a few love triangles persisting throughout the pods portion of the show, and one in particular kept viewers curious as to who would end up with who: Jimmy, Jessica, and Chelsea.

The trio in particular had a long journey from the beginning of the experiment to the end, since Jimmy had trouble deciding who he wanted to be with between the two women. Jessica took pride in her “direct” and blunt way of communicating, while Chelsea was a bit more expressive.

To add to more complexity to the story, Jessica is also notably a single parent to 10-year-old Autumn. And, in fact, is the first single mother on the show. She was clear about her background, having a child young, and co-parenting with Autumn’s father. Still, it wasn’t clear how Jimmy felt about that crucial part of Jessica’s life, and how it would fit into their potential marriage.

Jessica quickly fell for Jimmy, but his hesitation throughout their relationship proved a problem for her once she realized she’d given him gifts and expressed her feelings, but wasn’t quite sure how he felt about her.

Jimmy ended up choosing Chelsea, and Jessica left alone. Here’s where she is now.

Jessica Vestal says her daughter had “hard feelings” about the breakup.

In an interview with PEOPLE, Vestal says her daughter, Autumn, was “very protective of her” and supported her mother after her time in the pods.

“She’s an extension of me, she’s a chip off the old block,” Vestal says. “So, she knows whatever is meant for me will be clear and evident and you shouldn’t have to wonder. If someone leaves you wondering where you stand with them, they’re not your person.”

Vestal also explained that while Jimmy seemed to have some hesitation on her being a single parent, she didn’t hold it against him. In fact, the two apparently talked after she revealed it, and Jimmy sounded positive about potentially becoming a stepfather.

“Obviously, I would’ve preferred for him to welcome us both with open arms, but I knew that he, or anyone else, might need some time to process that,” she says. “And he came back the next day, and he was like, ‘I actually love that,’ and we had more conversations about Autumn and what the dynamic of our relationship would be like with her in it. So, initially I let him take his time and I didn’t put it against him.”

Although the couple’s breakup was emotional, Jessica also says she didn’t look back when she left, and hasn’t spoken to Jimmy since.

“I think he and I came to that understanding at probably the same time that we weren’t meant for each other. So, no, I never had an afterthought about it,” she says.

Despite Jimmy choosing Chelsea, Jessica still made an impression on viewers, and it’s a bummer we won’t see more of her on the show.

While Jessica didn’t find a match on the show, there’s still 5 couples to root for. Don’t miss a single episode of Love Is Blind Season 6.
