Miguez’s Mock Draft: How the Saints could ace the NFL Draft

The 2025 NFL Draft is just weeks away in Green Bay.

The New Orleans Saints, looking to get back to the playoffs for the first time since 2020, will need to have a strong draft class in order to help make that happen for new head coach Kellen Moore.

Here is my mock draft that I think could be a slam dunk for the Black and Gold:

1st Round, Pick 9: Abdul Carter, EDGE, Penn State

The 2024 Big 10 Defensive Player of the Year is coming off of a 12-sack season while leading his team into the College Football Playoff. He had a really strong showing in the Scouting Combine and will definitely fill a major need for New Orleans.

2nd Round, Pick 40: Jaxson Dart, QB, Ole Miss

The Saints are looking to build for the future, and to do so, they will need a young quarterback to be the centerpiece. Dart has shown throughout his college career his ability to make big plays in big moments. I don’t think it’s likely that he’s there at 40, but the Saints could get a steal here.

3rd Round, Pick 71: Tre’ Harris, WR, Ole Miss

Harris, a Lafayette native, grew up a Saints fan before going to Louisiana Tech and Ole Miss. Now, after a season where he racked up over 1,000 yards and seven touchdowns, could the Louisiana product don the Fleur de Lis while filling another need and having instant chemistry with his college quarterback coming with him? Again, unlikely, but it would be a gold strike.

#93: Shemar Turner, DL, Texas A&M
#112: Jared Wilson, IOL, Georgia
#131: Tez Johnson, WR, Oregon
#184: Jack Kiser, LB, Notre Dame
#248: Jordan Hancock, CB, Ohio State
#254: Clay Webb, IOL, Jacksonville St
