Indian captain Rohit Sharma was hit on the knee during the team’s practice session at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Sunday.  According to a post by Cricbuzz on X, Rohit had to leave the practice session midway and was later seen with a ice pack wrapped around his left knee.

However according to a Reuters report, Rohit is fine. Fast bowler Akash Deep played down concerns over skipper’s injury.

“Such injuries are quite common when you play cricket and it doesn’t make much of a difference,” Akash told reporters, adding that the practice wicket had been challenging.

The Indian captain has been struggling to score runs in the series. Rohit, who missed the first Test, has been dismissed on the scores of 3,6 and 10 in the three innings he has batted of the series.
