Jacobs is expanding its federal infrastructure portfolio with a new U.S. Navy contract, according to a news release.
The Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command Atlantic awarded Jacobs an $80 million, single-award, indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract to provide multimedia environmental compliance engineering support. The deal covers U.S. Department of Defense installations globally, with a primary focus on the eastern U.S., Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
Jacobs’ scope includes environmental services related to petroleum storage tank compliance, oil spill preparedness, air quality regulation, drinking water and wastewater compliance and material and waste management, according to the release.
“This multimedia contract renewal continues Jacobs’ 40-plus years of support to NAVFAC and provides another opportunity to advance the environmental compliance of the U.S. Navy, one of the world’s largest maritime operations,” said Susannah Kerr, Jacobs executive vice president. “Supporting NAVFAC with environmental stewardship is integral to enabling the U.S. Navy to focus on their core mission of maintaining freedom of the seas.”
Jacobs has an established history with NAVFAC. The Dallas-based company has delivered infrastructure design, program management and environmental solutions, and counts on its expertise in wastewater treatment and environmental remediation to support the Navy’s compliance initiatives, according to the release.
The contract builds on Jacobs’ federal infrastructure work. For example, the contractor recently secured a $249 million architecture and engineering services award from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to assist with environmental projects across the Northwestern U.S., Alaska, Hawaii and other outlying areas.
